“The first step to making a video is getting yourself a camera.“

“Footage” is a 16-page zine I wrote and designed about the highs and lows of making amateur skateboard films. The zine proudly features the photography of Leo Wilson, Nathan Gentry, and Brent Amrhein

The visual identity of the zine was inspired by cut-n-paste zines from the pre digital-layout age such as Thrasher, Maximum Rock And Roll, and the “Black Panther Coloring Book”. I wanted to pay homage to this early way of making zines while utilizing modern techniques and photography.

“Footage” now resides among the zine archive at the Salt Lake City Public Library.
