You can call me Rob.
My name is Robert Scowcroft. I am a graphic designer and illustrator from Salt Lake City, Utah, and I have been making art for as long as I can remember.
I remember when I graduated high school, one of my teachers gave me a thick envelope containing all the doodles I'd filled my school papers with. He told me how impressed he was by my drawings and his decision to save them, believing one day I'd become a professional artist.
This was when I decided to study graphic design.
My Approach:
I make work that is practical, thoughtful, and stylish. I draw influence from comics, cartoons, music, film, skateboarding, and contemporary art. I enjoy creating graphic design that is well organized with a handmade touch or an intentionally rough edge.
Physical Process
I believe a human touch is important when making art, that is why my artistic process is grounded in physical and traditional processes such as pen and ink, painting, printmaking, collage, and sketching.
Working mindfully
With my work I hope to promote transparency, break down hierarchies, encourage collaboration and conversation, benefit society and the environment, and question the status-quo.
